A leaping bottlenose dolphin.

This one turned out a bit more cartoon-y than I initially imagined... but I actually decided that I kind of like it that way. It was cute in a "this would look cute on a stationary pad" sort of way. :p

Done in Prismacolor pencil on colored art paper.

I always love the shading you get when you work with Prismacolors. =D I don't know how you do it, but it's awesome.

Thank you! :D Layers, layers, layers! I start with the highlights, then work my way towards the darker shades. Then I start with another layer of the highlights, and work my way towards the darks again. And again, and again... and eventually I just touch up the areas that need it. :p The trick to getting the Prismas to blend is to use one color over the other, switching back and forth between the two colors until you get just the right mix. It takes some practice (and wears down the pencils pretty fast!) but it works well in the end! :D
