I know what you mean, birds are amazing when you really observe them! We have a lot of crows here, and so not so many bluejays-- cousins to the scrub jays, I believe. But when I see them, I love that flash of blue and their distinct personalities, so different from other birds! I haven't caught one with my camera yet, though...
Yup! I'm in the Bay Area now, and we have lots of western scrub jays here. They're seriously all over the place! Gorgeous, too. I started a watercolor of them that I should finish...
